Ernia: A Handmade Brush Font for Bold Campaigns

As I sat down to finalize the visuals for a new product launch, I knew the font choice would make or break the campaign’s visual identity. The goal was to create something that felt authentic, eye-catching, and instantly recognizable. That’s when I landed on Ernia—a rough, handmade brush font that brings a raw, natural feel to every design.

Ernia isn’t just a font; it’s a statement. Its uneven strokes and organic texture give it a painterly quality that stands out in a sea of clean, digital typefaces. It’s perfect for campaigns that need a personal touch, whether it’s a seasonal sale, a creative workshop announcement, or a branded content series.

Ernia for Instagram Posts and Social Media Graphics

When designing social media graphics, especially for platforms like Instagram, the font needs to grab attention quickly. Ernia does exactly that. Its bold, expressive style works well for headlines, captions, and callouts that need to stand out in a fast-scrolling feed.

I used Ernia for a recent campaign promoting a limited-time discount on handmade products. The font added a sense of urgency and authenticity, making the message feel more like a personal recommendation than a generic ad. Pairing it with a clean sans serif for body text helped balance the design while keeping the focus on the key message.

On mobile screens, Ernia’s irregular shapes can be a bit tricky, but when used for short phrases or titles, it remains legible and impactful. For thumbnails or profile pictures, it adds a unique flair that makes the content more memorable.

Ernia for YouTube Thumbnails and Reels Covers

YouTube thumbnails are a crucial part of video discovery, and the right font can make a huge difference. Ernia’s dynamic, brush-like strokes work well for thumbnail headers, especially for videos that aim to inspire or educate.

In one instance, I designed a thumbnail for a video about DIY home decor. Using Ernia for the title gave the thumbnail a handcrafted look that aligned with the video’s theme. The result was a higher click-through rate compared to previous thumbnails using more standard fonts.

For reels covers, Ernia’s personality shines through even more. It adds a sense of movement and energy, which is essential for engaging viewers in a short amount of time. Just be mindful of spacing—too much detail can get lost on smaller screens.

Ernia for Web Design and Landing Page Headers

Landing pages often rely on strong, clear typography to convey the main message. Ernia can be an effective tool here, especially when used for headers or subheaders that need to draw attention without overwhelming the reader.

I recently worked on a landing page for a new online course. By using Ernia for the headline, we created a visual contrast against the clean, modern layout of the rest of the page. This helped guide the viewer’s eye toward the most important information—what the course offers and why it matters.

However, Ernia isn’t ideal for long paragraphs. It works best as a display font, paired with a readable body font like a serif or sans serif. This combination ensures clarity while maintaining a cohesive design language.

Ernia for Email Banners and Promotional Content

Email marketing relies heavily on visual hierarchy and quick readability. Ernia can be a great asset here, especially for subject lines, headlines, or promotional banners that need to catch the eye at a glance.

During a recent email campaign for a seasonal sale, I used Ernia for the header and callout text. The font’s expressive nature made the offer feel more personal and urgent. It also helped differentiate the email from others in the inbox, increasing open rates by a noticeable margin.

When working with dark backgrounds, Ernia’s contrast can be enhanced by adjusting the weight or adding a subtle shadow. This helps maintain legibility while preserving the font’s artistic appeal.

Ernia for Branding and Logo Design

Brand identity is all about consistency and recognition. Ernia can play a role in this, especially for brands that want to communicate a creative, artisanal vibe. Its handmade feel aligns well with businesses focused on crafts, art, or lifestyle content.

One of my clients used Ernia for their logo and brand assets. The font’s irregularity gave the brand a more approachable and human feel, which resonated well with their target audience. It also helped the brand stand out in a competitive market where many competitors used more rigid, corporate fonts.

When using Ernia for logos, it’s important to test different weights and styles to find the right balance between creativity and professionalism. Some variations may work better for specific industries than others.

Ernia for Pinterest Campaigns and Visual Storytelling

Pinterest is all about visual storytelling, and the right font can help reinforce the narrative. Ernia’s expressive style is perfect for pins that aim to evoke emotion, tell a story, or showcase a creative process.

For a recent Pinterest campaign promoting a line of handmade stationery, I used Ernia for the pin titles and captions. The font’s organic look complemented the products and helped create a cohesive aesthetic across the board. It also made the pins more visually engaging, leading to higher engagement rates.

When designing for Pinterest, keep in mind that the font should be large enough to read at a glance. Smaller text can get lost in the grid, so using Ernia for headlines or labels is usually the safest bet.

Ernia for Digital Ads and Online Shop Campaigns

Digital ads require a strong visual presence, and Ernia can help achieve that. Whether it’s for a Google Ad, Facebook ad, or Instagram post, the font adds a unique character that can set the ad apart from the competition.

I recently used Ernia for a campaign promoting a small online shop selling handmade jewelry. The font’s rough texture matched the brand’s aesthetic and helped create a more authentic connection with the audience. It also helped the ad stand out in a crowded space, leading to better performance metrics.

When using Ernia in ads, it’s important to test different placements and sizes. Sometimes, a smaller version of the font can be more effective, especially when paired with high-quality images or other visual elements.

Ernia for Webinars and Online Course Promotions

Webinar promotions often rely on clear, compelling messaging. Ernia can add a creative edge to these materials, especially when used for headlines, subtitles, or promotional banners.

For a webinar on digital marketing strategies, I used Ernia for the title and key points. The font’s expressive style made the content feel more dynamic and engaging, which helped attract more attendees. It also reinforced the brand’s creative identity, making the webinar more memorable.

Pairing Ernia with a neutral, easy-to-read font for the body text ensured that the message remained clear while still benefiting from the font’s artistic appeal.
